X Article Publisher is a browser extension for preparing Markdown drafts and writing them into X Articles drafts. This extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp or xAI.

Data processed by the extension

The extension may process the following user-provided data:

  • Markdown draft text.
  • Image URLs included in Markdown.
  • Local images and cover images selected, pasted, or dragged into the extension.
  • Draft metadata, write records, and extension settings.
  • Optional API configuration entered by the user for optional cover-related features, if enabled.

Where data is stored

Drafts, write records, settings, local image references, and optional configuration are stored locally in the user’s Chrome profile through browser storage APIs. The developer does not operate a central server for collecting this data.

How data is used

The extension uses the data only to:

  • Render and preview Markdown drafts.
  • Convert supported Markdown structures for X Articles.
  • Fetch user-selected remote images when needed.
  • Upload selected media into the user’s active X Articles draft.
  • Save local draft history and write records for the user’s convenience.

Network access

The extension communicates with:

  • x.com, when the user opens X Articles and chooses to write a draft.
  • localhost, when the user uses the optional local server workflow.
  • Remote image hosts, only when the user’s Markdown includes image URLs and the user chooses to import the draft.
  • Optional user-configured AI provider endpoints, only if the user enables and configures those optional features.

Data sharing

The extension does not sell user data. The extension does not transfer drafts or images to a developer-operated server. Data is sent to X only as part of the user’s explicit action to create or update their own X Articles draft. Remote image hosts may receive normal image fetch requests when the user imports images from those URLs.

Retention and deletion

Local draft records and image references remain in the user’s browser profile until the user deletes them in the extension, clears Chrome extension storage, or uninstalls the extension.

Permissions

The extension requests permissions only to provide its publishing workflow:

  • storage for local drafts, settings, image references, and write records.
  • sidePanel for the editor interface.
  • tabs, activeTab, and scripting for opening or detecting X Articles pages and running the user-triggered import flow.
  • https://x.com/* for writing drafts into X Articles.
  • http://localhost:*/* for the optional local server workflow.
  • Optional host permissions for remote images selected by the user.

扩展可能处理以下由用户主动提供的数据：

数据共享

扩展不会出售用户数据。扩展不会把草稿或图片传到开发者运营的服务器。只有当用户主动执行写入操作时，扩展才会把内容写入用户自己的 X Articles 草稿。若用户导入远程图片，远程图片服务器可能会收到正常的图片请求。

保留与删除

本地草稿记录和图片引用会保留在用户浏览器中，直到用户在扩展内删除、清理 Chrome 扩展存储，或卸载扩展。

权限用途

扩展申请权限只是为了完成发布工作流：

  • storage：保存本地草稿、设置、图片引用和写入记录。
  • sidePanel：提供侧栏编辑器界面。
  • tabs、activeTab、scripting：打开或识别 X Articles 页面，并执行用户主动触发的导入流程。
  • https://x.com/*：将草稿写入 X Articles。
  • http://localhost:*/*：支持可选的本地服务流程。
  • 可选站点权限：仅用于用户草稿中的远程图片下载。
